Long time ... no post ... Back on track!

Wow, does time pass so quickly! Wes is now 7 (turning 8 in June). His brother, Jerry, unfortunately is no longer with us (a post I will be putting together in the near timeframe). However, Wes has adopted Heff (aka Atastocita Hefty). Heff is a troublemaker like Jerry and makes us laugh all the time! A few years ago Wes dislocated a few toes...

All healed well and this week it is something we are not yet sure of. His front right foot is all swollen. Wes visits Dr. Smith today so we will find out.

Many interesting stories to tell. Wes lost part of his tail (amputation!! even a double amputation because he got at his stitches and there wasn't enough skin to close it up again... sigh...), Heff had a stroke (actually a fibrocartilagenous embolism (FCE)) last summer. I came home and he couldn't walk correctly. It was like he was drunk. This was pretty upsetting but today he is 95% of what he was beforehand.

Thus, many interesting stories to tell!! I will get you all back 'in the loop' if you weren't updated via Facebook.

Uh-oh ... Wes is losing his fuzz ... almost all gone!

My big boy Wes was VERY fuzzy when I first brought him home. When his coat got wet it and  you looked close enough - you could see a little curl in it. Well, after almost 2 months now of him being with me, sadly, most of the fuzzy coat is gone and he has his 'red fawn' coat. Last night, hanging out with Jerry in the backyard I started giving his back a good rub and it seems as though he is starting to lose his soft, lighter coat now ... as I almost made a little mouse with the hair I brushed off.

Tomorrow ... hmm.... shall we talk 'black-tummies' ... or would that be 'tummy blackheads'?? This is one of those things I should have discussed at the BBQ I was at last week .... Just call me someone happy to discuss any topic.

Picnic / Play Time!

Woo hoo!! Picnic day!! What fun ... we played, we napped and Wes had a quick bath! Great meeting new friends ... and today Jerry officially became part of the family!

Hmm, what next fun and adventurous things shall we get up to? Just wait and see!!

WB Wonderful Wes

OK ... May 17, 2009 - My new adventure begins... I brought home WB Wonderful Wes! We call him 'Wes' ... just because! What a joy - this almost 2-year old (DOB: June 9, 2007) is such a treat! He's pretty darn fuzzy - almost like a bear. I will keep you posted...
